Vice President & Chief Academic Affairs finalists named
October 18, 2024
The search committee has recommended three finalists to President Pitney for a successor for Vice President Paul Layer, who plans to retire after a 35-year career at UAF and UA. The finalists will visit Fairbanks later this month and the finalists' dialogs with governance liaisons will be available as Zoom webinars for faculty, staff and students.

Simmons returns to UAF to lead College of Indigenous Studies as interim dean

Simmons, who holds a Master of Arts in Clinical-Community Psychology, brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles as a faculty member and senior administrator at UAF. As the former Interior èßäÊÓƵ Campus director, Simmons oversaw faculty and staff while serving as principal investigator on numerous federal and state grants.

General Counsel Matt Cooper to Depart UA after 13 Years of Service
