FY25 Salary Increase Update

UA LogoAt the end of June, Governor Dunleavy signed the FY25 University of èƵ system budget which included funds for the negotiated 2.5% compensation increases for benefitted faculty, adjuncts and staff.

Now that the budget is final, we wanted to remind you how and when compensation increases will be applied and appear on your paycheck. This update follows our communications on May 17 and June 7, where UA HR provided an article for FY25 Salary Increases: What you Need to Know via the UA News.

Key Details: The increases will be applied in different ways to different employee groups based on which salary schedule you’re on, and whether or not you’re a part of a collective bargaining unit. See the table below or view the May 17  HR News article:

Addressing Salary Compression: While CBAs dictate the way in which some increases will be applied, benefit-eligible staff on the Regular Staff Salary Schedule will have an increase to the salary grid of 1.5%, as well a 1-step increase on the new salary schedule, which is equivalent to an additional 1%. The combination is part of UA Leadership’s desire over the long term to address overall market alignment and salary compression.

The Timing: Consistent with past practice and our CBAs, salary increases will be applied in the first full pay period of the fiscal year. For FY25, that pay period (R16) runs from July 14, 2024, to July 27, 2024, with a pay date of August 9, 2024.

  • This is an unusual shift in pay period timing that will continue for the next several years, but the application of increases is consistent with past practices. For specific details regarding the dates and deadlines, please refer to the calendar attached to this email. You can also refer to the calendar showcased on our website and posted to UA News on 5/17/24.
  • Log into after July 14 and visit the “Employee (Upgraded)” tab to see your new salary. Salary Schedules will also be updated here by July 14.
