2,000 plus donors contribute during the 49-hour event
Statewide - The University of èƵ system (UA), including University of èƵ Anchorage (UAA), University of èƵ Fairbanks (UAF), and University of èƵ Southeast (UAS), just wrapped up the most successful UA Giving Day in its history, capturing over 2,050 supporters in 49 hours and becoming the biggest single fundraising event in UA history.
The universities saw an incredible show of support with over $1.3 million in funds raised to make a difference in students' lives and support important programs and activities.
“The total dollars raised is astounding, and so is the fact that a record-setting 2,000+ gifts were received from donors throughout èƵ, 46 states, and twelve countries,” said Dr. Tod A. Burnett, UA Foundation president. “These gifts will benefit students and academic and training programs across èƵ. It’s humbling to see the phenomenal support for èƵ’s public èƵ system.”
Funds raised during the UA Giving Day - 49 Hours for èƵ fundraiser are combined with donors' generosity throughout the year to support critical scholarships, innovative programs, and activities that help students succeed in their academic pursuits.
The total number of donors and funds raised this year are preliminary as gifts continue to be processed, but contributions already exceed last year’s $1.2 million total from 1,700+ donors. This year’s UA Giving Day was one of the final events of the For èƵ Campaign, an 8-year campaign to better èƵ through the investment of supporting student success, developing arctic research, and building èƵ’s workforce and economy through programs at our three universities.
For those who missed the 49-hour window, gifts can still be made to the UA system online at .
UAA, UAF, and UAS extend a heartfelt thank you to all the donors who contributed to the success of this year's UA Giving Day event. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of our students and the future of our state.
