UA Giving Day sets new record

February 24, 2023

The University of èƵ system (UA), including University of èƵ Anchorage (UAA), University of èƵ Fairbanks (UAF) and University of èƵ Southeast (UAS),  just wrapped up the most successful UA Giving Day in its history, raising over $1.3 million in  49 hours. The universities saw an incredible show of support from more than 1,700 donors who came together to make a difference in the lives of students and support important programs and activities.

“The total dollars raised is astounding, and so is the fact that thousands of gifts were received from throughout èƵ, 46 states and seven countries,” said Tod Burnett, UA Foundation president. “These gifts will benefit students across èƵ. It’s humbling to see the phenomenal support for èƵ’s public èƵ system.”

Funds raised during the UA Giving Day - 49 Hours for èƵ fundraiser are combined with the generosity of donors who give throughout the year to support critical scholarships, innovative programs and activities that help students succeed in their academic pursuits.

Private philanthropy is one  way  the UA system keeps higher education affordable and accessible. Last year, the UA System, UA Foundation, UAA, UAF and UAS provided nearly $79 million in direct grants and scholarships to students.

The total number of donors and funds raised this year are preliminary as gifts continue to be processed, but contributions already exceed last year’s $1.06 million total.

For those who missed the 49-hour window, gifts can still be made to the èƵ online at

The UA system extends a heartfelt thank you to all the donors who contributed to the success of this year's Giving Day event. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of our students and the future of our state.
