Board of Regents Audit and Academic Affairs Committees
to continue work on expedited program review
and the FY21-22 budget this week

WHO: University of èßäÊÓƵ Board of Regents

WHAT: The University of èßäÊÓƵ is facing a $45 million reduction in state appropriations in the next two fiscal years, and revenue from other funding sources also is declining. To address these issues and the additional financial impact of COVID-19, the Audit Committee of the board will discuss a financial plan that includes additional base reductions to the èßäÊÓƵ budget as well as the use of one-time savings to help meet the projected shortfall. The budget discussion will include an update regarding reductions made by each èßäÊÓƵ due to the Compact Agreement with the governor, as well as COVID-19 and enrollment impacts. 

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will hold a second special meeting to finalize expedited academic program recommendations held over from its April meeting. Last month, the committee advanced recommendations to the full Board of Regents that would reduce or eliminate 46 academic programs. This week, the committee will discuss three additional program eliminations as well as the teach out plan for all eliminated programs.
