How a passion for education shaped Brad Bodde’s career

If there was an award for adjunct professor longevity, Brad Bodde would be the clear winner. He has taught classes at the University of èƵ Anchorage for more than 80 semesters.

“Working for the èƵ was not about money, but my way to contribute to the education of future generations to be problem solvers of the world issues,” said Bodde, who taught his first class in 1985.

After retiring from his adjunct position, Bodde wanted to continue to contribute to UAA’s mission of discovering and disseminating knowledge. So in 2004, he started a new career in development work at UAA Advancement. Four years later, he transitioned to the University of èƵ Foundation.

“My job has had many milestones, but the latest one is moving the Foundation user software systems to a cloud hosted one,” said Bodde.

Bodde graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Idaho and a bachelor’s degree in computer science education from the University of èƵ Anchorage. He is a lifelong learner who has decades of self education.
